Rick Blangiardi
Mayor Blangiardi took office January 2, 2021, leading nearly one million people in the City and County of Honolulu, the 11th largest municipality in the country. His top priorities include the COVID-19 pandemic and its health and economic impacts; affordable housing and homelessness; public safety; rail; elder care; and modernizing services to bring the City’s technology into the 21st century.
Prior to being elected, Mayor Blangiardi led a distinguished career as a media executive that spanned more than four decades. He began his broadcast career at KGMB in 1977 and went on to succeed in senior executive positions in many of the nation’s most competitive markets. Most recently he was the general manager of Hawaii News Now (2009-2020). He has an extensive resume of involvement in Hawaii’s leading nonprofits, educational institutions and youth development programs.

Dean Uchida
Mr. Uchida was most recently a senior project manager in SSFM’s Strategic Services Group, providing real estate advisory and project management services to a wide cross section of private corporations and public agencies.
Prior to SSFM, he was at D.R. Horton-Schuler Division and responsible for the Hoopili Development in East Kapolei. He was also the executive director of the Land Use Research Foundation of Hawaii (LURF), a private, non-profit research and trade organization whose members are major Hawaii landowners and developers. Prior to that, he was administrator of the Land Division with the State Department of Land and Natural Resources. Mr. Uchida has been involved, from both the private and public sectors, in real estate development, property management, land use law and land use planning in Hawaii since 1981.
