Punahou School’s “Path to Net Zero” Initiative: Walking the Walk


Punahou School’s “Path to Net Zero” is a unique organizational, large-scale, and campus-wide initiative that incorporated a turnkey planning/design/construction approach with the goal of achieving a 100% Net-Zero Energy target through energy efficiency, energy conservation, and on-site renewable energy including battery energy storage. Through a top-down commitment that included integrating and incorporating student engagement and educational opportunities, Punahou School’s “Path to Net Zero” initiative combines engineered solutions that not only improves facilities and site sustainability but also supports its students’ educational opportunities and fosters within its students personal and social responsibility that leads to moral action, personal leadership and engaged citizenship.
