Abstract:
The Residential Construction Safety & Injury Prevention Training (RCSIP) is a 4-hour class that has been made possible by a grant from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). It is designed for employers, workers, and others involved in residential construction safety. This interactive, engaging course covers Fall Protection Systems & Prevention, Electrical Safety & Hazard Awareness, Hand &
Power Tool Safety, Struck-by, Caught-in, and Caught-between, Drywall Dust & Respiratory Protection, PPE, Ladders & Scaffold Safety, Employer Responsibilities and Employee Rights & Responsibilities.
All trainees will receive a certificate of completion.
RCSIP is led by a Certified Safety Professional. There is no cost for the seminar. However, registration to attend at PBX is $20 and covers complimentary parking at the convention center, lunch, and an opportunity to win prizes, attend pau hana event, plus free access to other seminars and the exhibitor show floor.

Robert McCarthy

Robert McCarthy holds a Master of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health and a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene at Montana Technological University. Robert regularly teaches Occupational Safety and Health undergraduate courses for several universities.
Additionally, Robert instructs several safety courses such as the US Army Corp of Engineers EM-385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements; OSHA 10- and 30- Hour courses. He holds several professional Board of Certified Safety Professionals safety certifications and is a member of several safety organizations. He
served as president of Hawai‘i ASSP Chapter and American Industrial Hygiene Association, Hawaiʻi Chapter.
